This stunning 18ct Opal & Diamond Brooch/Pendant is a breathtaking piece of early 20th-century craftsmanship, believed to originate from the now-closed Austrian/Hungarian mines. Crafted in 18ct yellow gold, it features a beautiful starburst design. At the center, a round cabochon opal is encircled by 13 old-cut diamonds, with a secondary ring of 12 cabochon opals in an oval shape. Extending from this, the outer layer of the starburst showcases 8 larger cabochon opals and 16 more old-cut diamonds, all meticulously set with 4 claws each. The combination of the opals’ iridescent hues and the dazzling diamonds creates a radiant effect that captivates the eye. The piece can be worn as either a pendant or a brooch, with a secure c-clasp and a discreet oval-shaped bale.
